I know it can be done alone for we have dozens who have become professoional or semi-pro. I also know that for those who have made the grade, there were countless other dozens who failed to grow into adult abilities they envisioned. I know many of these might have succeeded with the proper help and guidance and encouragement. Almost every fan wants something different from Fandom, but the field is wide enough to accomodate all. Too, Fandom is evolving in concept almost every day. Therefore it is hard to exactly state the aims of the N.F.F.F, expect to say, "We want an organization strong enough, and large enough, to get the Fans whatever they may want, whenever they may want it." Deep consideration will, I believe, show that this statement, specious though it may seem, covers the situation. There is no thought that we can or shall reform the world; that we shall lead it into the heaven of Earth of Slanship; that we are the wisest and most forward-looking people of our age. I do realize, however, that we have an Eternity and Cosmos-spanning consciousness different than that of an average man on the street. Because we are not geniouses, some of our work thus far may even have seemed silly. Some of it has not been done as skillyfully as might have been possible. For we have to feel our way in most instances. But we have had and still do have sincerity of purpse; enthusiasm, and a desire to grow and expand in ability and usefulness. We believe we have shown enough progress in those directions to merit the continued and increasing support of Fandom. For there is a feeling that
