portant phase of our moral growth, as it brings us closer to our own real thoughts and desires and ambitions for no one, while sincerely and earnestly praying, can help but look upward toward the finer things of life which he desires and toward which he is striving with all his might. I BELIEVE fully in the Father-concept of God, as taught to us by Jesus Christ -- that He feels towards me, in infinitely greater measure, the same desire for my well-being that I feel for my own children. I BELIEVE, I am sorry to state, that the majority of the churches of today are losing a grand opportunity for doing their greatest good because they are too much concerned with "keeping up with the world" instead of seeking to draw the world up nearer to God. That they have forgotten, in their urge to build the finest and costliest "plant", that Jesus and the other great Sons of God taught mostly in the open air; that they would not consent to the huge expenditures for gigantic cathedrals when there were hungry among the congregation or even among those who made no profession of faith. That they have forgotten that Jesus and the other great teachers told simple things about how one could and should treat his less-fortunate brother, and did not feel it their duty to give learned discourses on the political and economic problems of the day; on how the legislators should run the world; on how judges should decide the cases before them; or on how business men should run their individual businesses., etcetc. It is sad to note how often "organized religion" has become more or less of a "racket", than a humble and deferential search for the Divine and Infinite Will. I BELIEVE, in spite of the above pessimistic paragraphs, in the work that right-minded people of all religions are doing to bring about that Will of the Infinite; to bring about the Brotherhood of Man, and the day when all men shall stand with equal opportunities to accomplish that which their abilities will allow, towards the good of all. I BELIEVE that Man will reach to heights as yet undreamed; that it was the purpose of the Infinite Will that he should thus advance, if he so desired, and that Man was given certain innate abilities and powers to enable him thus to advance if he would but use them wisely; that it will be by the following of the revealed Plan laid down for us, however obscurely, by this Infinite Mind (I, personally, use the term "God" in thinking of Him), that Man will attain these goals toward which he is now groping. 3
