Queer creatures, these natives, whose inner mechanism was so constructed as to allow them to exist in an atmosphere that was two thirds carbon monozide. The station was a round building and in the center was a raised Ganese dome. It was the roof of the observatory and offices of the staton. Dick turned to Matthews and asked, "Hey Jack where's that plan of the station that you brought aboard?" "Dunno, let me read, won't you?" "Well you should know," persisted Sanders. "You're the one that brought it" Jack sighed and closed his book. "You seem to have the knack of interrupting me just as I get to the interesting part. Offices were in the center, a big dining hall, barracks for the attendants and huge storage rooms for drugs. Thre were mases of corridors. He wondered how anyone ever found his way round. Memorising it was a tiresome job and he finally gave it up, yawned and glanced at his friend's long length, stretched out on the bunk. Then he learned over, picked up a bishop and a pawn from the chess board, drew back his hand and let them fly. The bishop went wide but the pawn bounced neatly off his head.
