GALAXY 13 himself so weak after the encounter with the electro-paralyzer that he decided to wait and attempt it after he had regained some of his strength. When the bonds and suit were off he essayed to stand on his feet but wobbled so the cow-faced one picked him up and carried him from the room down a long corridor into a place where huge dynamos hummed and wheels turned and all the vital machinery off the ship lay in orderly rows. He was deposited on a bench and the blue-chinned pirate spoke. "Sergeant," He glanced superciliously at the bars on Dick's shoulders, "It is my regretful duty to inform you that you are a helpless captive of the Captain of the "Vulture" If you will oblige by doing what we ask we shall release you, asking no question about you at all, but if you desire to disobey us I assure you that your future may not be as pleasant as you could wish. I advise you render your services without... er... resistance as you really have no choice." He cleared his throat importantly and goggled at the amazed Richard. The heavy-voiced ruffian at his shoulder placed a heavy hand on his shoulder and growled, "Well?" "Certainly not!" Dick retorted, coming to his senses. It seemed to be a signal for concerted action and all the actors answered their cue immediately. With beautiful coordination they all landed on Dick at the same time. He was pummeled, pulled, and pushed to and fro but his stubbornness diminished not a whit. At the same time they landed on him they seemed to be yelling something at him but their very enthusiasm and numbers rendered it impossible for him to distinguish the words. Then, with the same astonishing rapidity with which it started the laying on of hands and feet ceased and the haughty one with the blue chin marched quick time to Sanders and said, "It is very discourteous of you to refuse your timely assistance. However I'll overlook that
