5 STEFNEWS #71 A Fantasy Foundation Publication 1/2 price to Foundation subscribers James Hevelin THANKS TO: Ackerman, Madle, Rothman, Warner, Tucker, Willmorth, Tigrina, and Speer. TRAVELS Jerry Hewitt, erstwhile member of the LASFS now living in Stockton, was in LA 2 and 3 Dec. An ex-editor of SHANGRI-L'AFFAIRES, he visited Gus Willmorth, Neissen Himmel, and the LASFS clubroom. Al Ashley has apparently reached Battle Creek, since news of a poker party there reminds us of the former Slan Shack parties. FAPA Art Widner is reported to have received Fantasy Amateur Press Association records from his predecessor as Secretary, Al Ashley, but no club funds as yet. LASFS Walt Daugherty recently went on a rabbit hunt and bagged enough wild rabbits to provide food for himself and four guests, Tigrina, Forry Ackerman, E Everett Evans, and the latter's daughter Jenne, who demonstrated her abilities by preparing the meal. Tigrina, fandom's foremost radio contestant, won another five buck prize 2 Dec on the "Money on the Line" program by naming the song "Tea for Two". STEFNEWS 3761 Third Street Riverside, California FANZINES EMBER #23 & 24 (Brazier; Ditto). RS Richardson writes on rocketry, Schumann on "why," and various news and reprint items appear, among which is a fair price-list on pro and fan mags from Brazier. FANTASY-TIMES #26 & 27 (Taurasi). News and excerpts from a Hamling letter which state that the Ray Palmer insanity incident was a hoax perpetrated by the two for a laugh—which they got. THE NATIONAL FANTASY FAN Nov 46 (Lyon). Proxy report, editorial, and "N3Forum." Confusion is added to confusion. TNFF' SUPPLEMENT Oct 46 (Lyon). Proposed amendments to the constitution of the NFFF. NFFF OFFICIAL BALLOT (Lyon). For election of officers for 1947, it seems to be mostly illegal under the present constitution. Fault apparently lies in poor coordination between higher officers and the official editor. PSFS BULLETIN #3 (Madle). News and announcements for Phillyfolk.
