Ergerzerp is published bi-weekly by Ron Christensen At 1870 East 33 Street Brooklyn 10, N.Y. Mimeo'd at 1817 East 33 Street, Brooklyn 10, N.Y., by "Dipso" Gaulin TO SUBSCRIBERS: This issue will cause the delay of the Quartergy (sic) that was to be published. TO NON-SUBSCRIBERS: Ergy is 3 issues for 5c. It contains news of the fan world and fan doings. It presents this issue free in the hope that you will subscribe. --MORE-- Well, since you have had some look at the more obvious faults of the letter that Mr. Palmer published, we will go into some of the silly theories that the letter expounded. Our aim in uncovering this letter and contents is not to call the Lemuria series a hoax, but, to prove that the Editor has been quite insincere with the readers and the members of fandom, in the matter of collecting data and reading letters. The letter states that gravity has effect on the human stature of the human race. This is a bit silly, applying logic, one can see so. Shave states that there were giant men in Lemuria, if this were caus- (sic) by gravity, why weren't there giant cats or giant animals? If Mr. P reads each letter like he stated, he, or anybody with a good education, would spot this in an instant. And he title the letter" Checking Proof" And the part about the sun stabilizing itself in space is pure bunk for which Yours truly is responsible. It sounded so convincing that we almost had ourselves beliveing (sic) what we had written. About the stature of the men in the middle ages, more bunk. Any college will tell you that stature of the men in the middle ages was due to the environment. The africans of the same era show no such dip in stature, this is in general of course, not counting freaks. Then the midget stuff, as you know, midgets aren't midgets until they "grow up". Anybody knows that, I believe Mr. Palmer does too. All right so more small babies were born that year. Yeah, but these were premature and grew to normal size. Here comes the real thought provoker of the whole thing. Mr. Palmer has stated that he was intensly (sic) interested in the alfabet (sic) of Lemuria and would be glad to receive any added information on the subject. Well he got some. It seems tho (sic), that he didn't pay much attention to it tho (sic) as he might have noticed something. The letter stated that the six most used letters of the English language were: e, a, o , t, r, s, That's not true and we think that this should have been noticed if the letter was read in a good studied way. By the way, you may be interested to know that that alfabet (sic) was entirely the work of the Terrible Trio. We ourselves were actually dumbfounded at the number of words that we could apply to this alfabet (sic). So it is absolutly (sic) possible that the lemuria (sic) thing is made up by Mr Shaver. Remember that our alfabet (sic) had only six key letters. and look what we could do. --- Dipso Gaulin
