FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Balance on hand January 1946 Received dues and donations $ 42.75 15,50 $ 58,25 January Mailing expenses: Mastersets $ .30 Paper .40 Envelopes 2.00 Postage 12.60 $ 15.30 Secretary-Treasurer's expenses .90 $ 16.20 Balance 6 Apr 46 16.20 $42.05 Thanks for donations go to: Andy Anderson, 50c. THIS AND THAT: ASSENTMENT---Cunningham, McNutt, and Unger are the only members still on the roll who have failed to pay the assessment. CANDIDATES FOR JULY ELECTION---President, Milton A Rothman; Secretary-Treasurer, Fran Laney; Official Editor, Elmer Perdue. The records are in pretty good shape now. I mimeoed some forms to put in a looseleaf notebook. There is one page for each member, and it provides all the necessary spaces for information untill the end of the FAPA year 1949-50. Also mimeoed about 150 sheets of information for new prospective members. Al Ashley, 6April46. Waitlisters 7 & 8 were added on the basis of personaletters to the OE. REPORT OF SURPLUS PROPERTY CUSTODIAN Progress on getting the surplus property in shape has been slower than I'd have liked. However, Fran Laney has offered to help me some Saturday in the next few weeks. Perhaps between us we can finish getting the mess in order. With good luck, I hope to have a complete list of the stock on hand for inclusion in the July Fantasy Amateur. Al Ashley 6April46. ithotfantasitesmarriedsotheywouldhavesomeonelsetodothemimeoingfilingsortingktp. When tentative new members fail to qualify, it seems to your OE that, provided there is time, new prospects should be pulled in off the waiting list and started with the mailing then extant. Otherwise we don't have a full roster all the time and don't get $65 a year from dues. Incidentally, we note that the waiting list this time is all new. There were vacancies for everyone who was on it two months ago. If i may add my franc's worth to the question of activity credits to be allowed on printed matter: Tucker's standard, wordage, seems better than Norm's, time. The latter varies a great deal, and my have no relation to actual value contributed to FAPA. There might also be a question about a four-page printed article written by a member but professionally printed for him. In the abstract, twice as much activity credit should be allowed to the writer for other men's publications. But since the activity requirement is only a rule of thumb anyway, which good members should try to exceed, such precision gauging [seems?] [illegible]
