As you are no doubt fully aware "FAN" has no set issuing date nor do we have a set editorial policy. If I see something that I think would be of interest to fans I try to print it. I can't please all of you all of the time but letters show that I do please some of you and its those letters that keep us going. Fans can deny that they publish for ego-boo but I'll be frank to admit that if it wasn't for a word or two of encouragement now and then that it wouldn't be worth bothering with. As far as suggestions are concerned I can only say this. I try to give the readers what they want so long as it doesn't interfere with what I get any pleasure out of. If I publishe what the reader demands when its not what I particularly want then publishing becomes a job and not a hobby. I'm sorry but I'll keep my amateur publishing as a hobby but don't let that stop the suggestions cause we might not be a couple of fan feudists and we might agree on something. What say? Howz about a letter - HUH? What does the future hold in store for readers of "FAN"? Well, here 'tis: A new issue of the FAN DIRECTORY with a new twist that I'm sure will interest all and be of more value than the old one. Something Lovecraftian which will undoubtedly be printed and of great interest to Lovecraft Fans. Tigrina is working with me on this but must be confidential until published. We are discussing with Ackerman the publishing of the Freehafer paper on Rocket Research References. The Freehafer Memorial is still to be published starting off with an excellent article by Paul Freehafer on his views of fandom which pulls no punches. I am grateful to Fran Laney for the use of this item. Results of the FAN CENSUS will be available soon but it is taking time to corelate the information contained there in so it takes time. Over 500 cards were sent out with about 250 bothering to return the attached card and about 123 bothered to return the long questionaire. "PACFIFICON" is due out within the next three weeks with all kinds of information for the convention-minded and information for those who are not convention minded which we hope will change their mind. The Rider, a publication of James Hevelin is enclosed and our apologies to Rusty for not getting it out sooner than this. The fault is entirely mine that his pub is dated January as Rusty delivered his pub to me on time. It was to be delivered with "FAN" which is mailed today. That's all for now...........
