July, 1945 PSFS NEWS Page 5 Burroughs! Good news for Burroughs fans and collectors! For several years now it has been exceedingly difficult to get hold of his books. Maybe once in a while you'd find an old battered up copy that wasn't worth bothering with, or else you would find a reprint copy for which someone would want three or four dollars. For example, "Swords Of Mars" was one of the hardest to get in any form, and a copy of it in good shape would bring five dollars. But now the situation has changed. For Burroughs, Inc., has brought out nice new one dollar editions of no less than twelve titles. The new editions are very nice indeed, with a reddish-orange colored binding and generally one illustration, a frontispiece. The titles to be found in this new edition are: Swords of Mars Synthetic Men of Mars Pirates Of Venus Lost of Venus Carson of Venus Deputy Sheriff Comanche Co. Tarzan Triumphant Tarzan And The Leopard Men Tarzan's Quest Tarzan And The Lion Man Tarzan And The Forbidden City Tarzan The Magnificent MAIL! Plenty of mail this time. First of all, a letter from Johnny Newton in which he informs us that he received Jack Agnew's address just a week to late to see him--and Jack's outfit had been only one mile away! But let Johnny tell it in his own words: Manila, Luzon Dear Ossie: Have just received your letter with Jack Agnew's address but it came about a week too late. I looked his outfit up and found out they had been stationed about a mile from here, then last week one day they moved out. I wrote to him and now I'm waiting for an answer as to how far from Manila he is. Glad to hear the June issue of the PSFS News is on the way. The other day I was lucky enough to pick up a copy of August Derleth's "Sleep No More." 20 reprints by Bond, Bloch, Lovecraft and all the others. Have only started it, but it is swell. An item you should have. That's all for now. Write soon. Your pal Johnny It is our fault that you missed Jack--if we had answered your letter right away without all that delay, you most likely would have had a different story to tell us. And now there is Jack O'Day: Dear Ossie: Sorry I did not write you sooner but there hasn't been anything to write about. Your June edition of the PSFS News was very good. Was sorry to read that Malcolm Jameson died. His stories were always good and
