2 THE TECHNOCRAT IN DEFENSE By OLON F. WIGGINS In the March 12th, Vol. 2 #12 issue of FANTASY-NEWS appeared an item under the heading: A LETTER FROM WIGGINS, which was referred to Sam Moskowitz by John W. Campbell, Jr. The purpose of this article is to straighten out,in the minds of those who happened to readit,the truth of the matter. Lest any of you who read it happen to get the idea that it was wrote by Sam Moskowitz or James V. Taurasi, let me straighten you out on that point. I had a letter from Campbell quite a while before the article appeared in F-N using exactly the same wording as this article, Taurasi or Moskowitz, whichever of the two wrote it, evidentally one of the two are using Campbell's own words. It is understood, of course, that neither Moskowitz or Taurasi have the necessary intelligence to do the article even tho they had wished to do so. For Campbell there is no excuse. He is either blissfully ignorant or not aware of the full facts of the case, or both. Anyone in their right minds would know better that to accuse me of trying to "freeze" stf fandom at its present level. My argument was that
