4 THE TECHNOCRAT world and political problems is way past the NEW FANDOM group. But you have to excuse the mental laggards, if there's no reasoning powers amongst them, then you can't very well expect them to reason with any degree of accuracy. If I wish to discuss a story I can do it at home, I don't need to attend any such childish drivel as NEW FANDOM and its convention. After the convention is over will be a good time to tell who is doing the most to "freeze fandom". Any new or prospective readers that might attend the convention will have their fill of it after seeing the childish goings on amongst the supposedly "top enthusiast's" of the field. That Campbell happened to draw the wrong conclusions to my letter is no fault of mine. If I had wished the letter to be read by stf fandom as a whole I would have sent it out in the FAPA mailing. The letter to Campbell was one of three, all identical, sent to Campbell, Palmer and Margulies, in the [[?]]ture of personal letters. Campbell was too intelligent to realize this, however, and referred it to Sam moskowitz, who, in his ignorance added more to it, which I never said, to make it appear that I was againast fandom at every angle, and that it would be wise to steer clear of me. The intelligent fan will see the straight of it, the others don't matter. To NEW FANDOM I say, "nuts"---the convention is yours............OFW
