SUN SPOTS Page 4 *********************************** [centered, underlined] "THE TRASH BASKET" FLASH:--Gerry de la Ree, Jr. has sold his first story, a 1,500 word short short, "Triumph Of Time" It went to Eddy Herrin to Fawcett Publications, and will be printed in one of their comic magazines. Gerry was paid a cent a word.... Roderick Gaetz and Charles Beling, two Solaroids, have sold a plot to Manly Wade Wellman. This is Gaetz' second time, as he and Roy Plotkin were founders for the plot of "Space Chore", short story scheduled for coming ish of TWS. The boys each get $1.50, and the club recieves [sic] $2.00....CENTUAR, [sic] fan mag edited by Phil Schumann has gone the way of DETOURS & PLUTO, we are sorry to hear... Gerry de la Ree is now sports writer for a local weekly newspaper... Roy Plotkin may return to this section of the country this summer, but will settle elsewhere than Westwood. Long Island perhaps...The Newark SFL has never quite recovered from that Newarkon flop. No meetings for several months now.... The Futurians of New York came up to a Solaroid meeting a couple weeks ago. Among those present were Rod Gaetz,
