[either] a suburb or an integral part of Los Angeles. And there is such a [thing] as contagion. [line break] ---oo0oo--- GLOM Isn't Hoffman's "The Willow" a reprint? I've seen it somewhere, but it might have been in some publisher's files. ((It was run of by Glen Daniels for his projected fanzine.)) Hemmel's all-encompassing regurgitations (the relish was too evident) continue to give the international standard for absolute zero a run for its money. [line break] ---oo0oo--- FAN-DANGO Our boy Fran is still in there, hot as a $2 pistol. "Temponaught".... The crame steal is interesting, typical Burtoniana. Crane's note on Ted Lewis' "Dip Your Brush" explains something I read in Goffin's JAZZ the other day in which he wondered why the Lewis band had such a vogue among jazzfans in the late 20's. The solos done it. The opus on filing will be remembered about three years from now when my fanzines start to fall down from the top shelves (eight feet up) of my closet. That closet, incidentally, is about 12' high, the only two story closet in fandom. Since when has the Hagerstown Hermit been known to part with all of $25 at one fell swoop? I suggest, very tentatively, that "sciolist" (the opposite of expert or specialist) would be a better word than "dilettante" in Widner's usage. Has anyoje [sic] in FAPA or out commented that present day psychology is more or less geared to the philosophy of the Widnorian specialist?
