As Others See It! Dear b0rb: Bill Warren asks: "Do you think ORB is sexy?" After reading Ackermann's "Satyr," all I can say is, yes. Could it be the same Bob drew that excellent illo on page 5 and the unspeakable crud on pages 1-2 and 9? Page 11 also excellent... Cover -- that sweet little dragon! He's cute. Keep up the good work. Cordially, Manley Banister 1905 Spruce Kansas City 1, Mo. ((I have a confession to make, that illo on 5 was only partly mine. I did the face, and that peculiar wavy line in the background, and did a few other minor details. The rest was by Bill Banulis.)) …I disagree with /Bruce/ Lane. I think ORB downright prudish... Why, in the Fan Foto Gallery, you even have the hs's and she's on different pages! Fannishly, David English 203 Robin St. Dunkirk, N.Y. Dear Bob, ...I don't think ORB is sexy. Nobody can say Dragjon is, certainly... the highlight of the issue was "The Laughing Satyr"... What made the poem so very enjoyable was its presentation. The mood was captured beautifully by the hand made alphabet...reminiscent not only of ancient Greece, but also of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayam. The tactile impressions of the grapes were very welcome... To put it bluntly, -- I can't wait for the new Orb if this is a sample of what's going to be in it... 'Bye Sandy Charnoff 2234 Ocean Ave. Brooklyn 29, N.Y. ((The letter column is merely a ghost of itself this issue, due to space limitations. Nevertheless, please comment on this issue of ORB. Perhaps we'll have more room next time. Since there was so little editing to do, our usual letter edde, BILL WARREN, wasn't notified. He'll be back in the next issue, though. Soriba mox! bj))
