Impressions on the Spectrum by [Jimmy?] [Kepner?] Fertility: .....GREEN My father planted And my Mother harvested. Pulsing life around me - Out across the meadow and here I these woods. This tall tree stands straight against the sky, With a vine intertwined in its branches, And the tender creaper winding among the "forget-me-nots" at its feet. A young buck chases a doe across the glade While a rabbit scampers to her hole to protect her young. Purity: .....WHITE Cleansing of heart and bearing of soul. I stand immaculate Upon this small promontory Set out against the sky; I have no shame to hide - No fear from which to hide: All is washed clean, and all is fresh. Gaiety: .....ORANGE Careless, exhuberent, Daring, in foolish youthful abandon Mad fling of life - life's a hot race - Snatch quickly all the flash of its excitement; Drown tears and nightness in a burst of joy! Passion: .....RED Crushingly thrilling emotion that chokes the breath And turns vermillion blood to crimson fire: A rending burst! Unfettered tension That flings the hard pressed soul to heaven from hell In one convulsive moment. Indecision: .....GREY I know not which way to turn In this half light; I cannot see the road clearly before me I stand baffled at the crossroads: I stare at the guiding words on the waypost In an unknown tongue. Cowardice: .....YELLOW Life that dwells enshadowed in festering marsh Where light and heat pursue it not; That it may live, diseased and dwarfed, But yet in peace, Untouched indeed by wind and storm and trampling feet But yet as well untouched By all that makes for throbbing daring worthwhile life. Thought: .....VIOLET Vigorous play of the mind or its tedious work - Deep soul filling pensiveness or clashing high reaches of logic Tumbling in geometric forms in the rare etheric brilliance, Or boring through granite mountains, challenged by the quest, 7
