PACIFICONEWS PRESENTS A SAMPLE Member 1942 FOURTH WORLD SCIENCE-FICTION CONVENTION SOCIETY 1942 1942 This is a sample copy of the attractive membership card designed by Roy Hunt for the 4th World Science Fiction Convention Society. So be sure to get in your membership fee soon, and get one of these splendid cards, with your name and membership number, lettered in by Russ Hodgkins. These will be untrimmed, just like the sample card, and can be cut down to fit the wallet or can be left with the white border for framing, just as the individual member desires. At the first meeting of the Society it was decided that Roy Hunt should design the card, and a request that he do so was airmailed to him. Within a few days the finished drawing was received and was rushed to the printer. We hoped to have the cards on the way to the members very shortly, but the printing proved unsatisfactory so it was necessary to send them elsewhere. As a result the sending out of the membership cards was delayed until now, but it was well worth it. The original Hunt drawing, twice the size of the finished card, will be sold at the auction. Several local members are already interested in obtaining it, so be sure to come prepared to bid high. .....PAUL FREEHAFER
