[illustration of a bug-like creature, with an unhappy expression, on left side of page, with title "Shulbug's Grandma Wulbug"] Re the "Surrealistic Joke' -- 'Shaggy Dog' controversy started by my article in Mutant. Yes, I've heard of Shaggy Dog Stories, but I contend that there is a distinct difference between the two. Frinstance here is what I would classify as a Shaggy Dog story. A man went you to the closet one day to get out his suit of tails. When he opened the door a moth flew out. He caught the moth and was about to kill it when the poor little thing started to plead for it's life. As the man was soft hearted he let the poor little moth live. Then he got an idea, if he would train the moth every day from 1 to 2 o'clock and enter it in the city contest maybe he would win first prize. So every day from 1 to 2 he trained the little moth and he entered it in the city contest and won first prize. This gave the man ambition so he thought if every day from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 he would train the moth, he might enter in the State contest and win the first prize.
