FROM "BEYOND THE TIME DOOR" IN "FANTASTIC ADVENTURES" VOLUME 3 NO. 2 " ' Don't be a fool, ' he hissed." and FROM "THE MASTERFUL MIND OF MORTIMER MEEK" IN "FANTASTIC ADVENTURES" VOLUME 3 NO. 3 "You're on the air" he hissed and FROM "SECRET OF THE STONE DOLL" IN "FANTASTIC ADVENTURES" VOLUME 3 NO. 2 "Wait, Looma--not yet!' I hissed." For the advanced student in the art of sibilance. The authors in "FANTASTIC ADVENTURES" specialize in the four-word hiss. FROM "IN REPLY TO MISKE" IN "FANFARE" VOLUME 1 NO. 6 "Some day, Miske, when you have time, you should figure out why "STEFFIN'S" autobiography is considered 'the kind of book that changes your life' while "PEGLER" is utterly despised by all who make pretense to advanced ways of thinking." and FROM "SLANDER" IN "FANFARE" VOLUME 1 NO. 6 "He's intelligent. Grant that. He's and exceptionally bright persons in a fandom where bright persons are a dime a dozen and a nickel for six in broken lots.----Yet "MISKE" is not [underlined] intelligent enuf to percieved that a great deal of his warped view of life is caused by his own subconscious resentment of other fan's dislike of "MISKE'S" posing. Those two quotations furnish the basis for a nice little essay with the tentative title "INTELLIGENCE VERSUS EGOTISM"; but I'm too damned lazy to write it.
