Sunday 24, 1944 Dear Folks, Well it looks like I'm a little behind in my letter writing for this week. I warned you I'd be gone though. I have about six letters to go before I'm caught up again. Thats the trouble with being out of camp so much. I'll try and catch up with the news now. I had K.P. Monday and they really had us working for a general was around inspecting. He never did show up here though. Anyway I got through the day ok and that night I got ready to go to the field. We left early Tues morning and went out several miles. We then started through the woods and I do mean woods. It was almost a jungle and no fooling. We went through it for a day and a half then we set up an attack and took over some hills. We set up a defense and stayed there
