Saving...
December 14, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Just got back from an [illegible] Xmas part. Was very nice. Of course, now they want me to be a member. Really must do so I guess to keep in standing. We were going to come back early & I was going to wash my hair. But you know how it is when a group of women get together -- never can leave. So it's now 12 midnite. Everyone is in bed but Duffy & I & we're sitting in front of the fire place writing letters. It's so peaceful & quiet now. And I'm getting lonelier for you every second. Gee darling, I wish you were here. Everyday my love for you grows. It's all so right & so utterly perfect. I'm so happy all the time. I'm way up in the clouds. I'll never come down. What have you been doing
