Aug 17, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Hiya honey. I have a little time before going on guard tonight so I'll dash off a few lines. Darling, had another letter from you this morning. Golly honey, three letters in two days. What could be better? This one was written Aug 2. Honey, it was the one wondering what my plans for the future were. As you say honey, its pretty hard to thresh out by letters. I'll do my best though. Now about school. Darling, I rather imagine the folks expect me to go back and I really should I guess. I've been away so long though that I sort of dread it. Especially if it means our being apart. Honey, would you consider getting married before I started back to school? I especially want to know that.
