Aug 18, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Darling, I had another letter from you this morning. Dog-goned if I didn't nearly burst with joy. That makes four wonderful letters in three days. This one was postmarked Aug 11. Golly honey, it was swell. Darling, why don't you take Vet's Adm. if that is what you want. The pay is well to so it should be a good deal all the way around. Honey, if I'd get home we could manage to get together some way. If nothing else I could come to S. Dakota. It sounds swell honey. I found out you didn't have to join the Service to work there and that makes me feel better. That was all I really worried about.
