February 26, Ans. Mar. 2nd [1943?] Barracks Dear Mom, Your box arrived to-nite, and the cookies were swell. I haven't cut into the cake yet. As usual, when a box comes to one of the fellows, he gets less than the rest of them do. But it evens up in the end. The boys all thought they were swell. I'm going to save the cake for a little while. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to answer your letter before, but I've been so busy. And when I haven't been busy, I've been too tired! I expect to be a lot wearier during the next six weeks of training, however, than I have been. As you may notice from that paper I sent to Sally, they've
