Somewhere in France February 2, 1945 1800 My dearest Mom, Have been receiving your letters regularly, and was glad to get them as always. Keep 'em coming. They're a great morale builder. A short while back, I sent Sally a "Purple Heart," which the army said I deserved. I only received a small scratch, and it didn't incapacitate me at all. I didn't lose a bit of time away
