March 20th [1945?] Dearest Pearl, We were too stunned to write much the other day but you are in our thoughts constantly. Our prayer is that you will be given strength to carry on. My dear, I so want to be near you, to hold you close now when you need it so much. Perhaps love can reach across the miles. You are so dear to us Pearl -- the sister neither of us ever had. Wish we could hear from you when you feel like writing. I wrote to Sally the other day. Am in the midst of decorating and house cleaning. Will drop you a line again soon. Much love from all of us. As ever Alice
