The geographic differentials submerged in the above national figures are not significant. Substantially the same picture would be projected if a separate chart were constructed for each region of the United States.10 When the prior data is examined in light of the large quantities of specific evidence of employment discrimination against Negroes in this country,11 an injurious denial to nonwhites of an equal opportunity to earn a living is clearly suggested.
