4A Iowa City Press-Citizen Friday, December 10, 1971 Program Saturday On 'Health Crisis' The health crisis caused by venereal disease will be one of the topics discussed at a conference entitled "Health Care and Human Values" to be held in the Harvard Room of the University of Iowa Memorial Union, Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Dr. Franklin P. Koontz, associate professor in Preventative Medicine and Environment at the University, will focus on the problems in Johnson and Linn Counties. His talk at 9:15 a.m. will launch a day planned to give participants an opportunity to find how human and social values relate to health care. Other speakers include David A. Belgum, professor of Religion and associate professor of Internal Medicine, who will speak on "Social, Personal, and Value Factors," at 9:45 a.m. and Pearl Zemlicka, assistant professor in the College of Nursing, who will talk about "Problem Identification" at 10:15 a.m. The remainder of the conference will be spent in group sessions and a general session for construction of models on the problem, critique and recommendations. According to Roger Simpson, of the conference planning committee, about eighty persons have registered to participate. He said others interested in the conference may attend by registering in advance by calling the Center for Conferences and Institutes at 353-5505. There is no registration fee. The conference is funded by the Southeast Iowa Presbytery, the United Campus Christian Ministry, and the Association of Campus Ministers, and is sponsored by the Johnson County Health Council's Executive Committee, and the Student American Medical Association.
