PSFS News Page 28 EDWARD KRAVITZ Ed is a unique occurence in our club. He is the first person we have ever seen who wanted to join the PSFS without being already with a more or less lengthy s-f background. On the contrary, his complete s-f history to date is the reading of various books, mostly by Wells and Burroughs, and some mags lent to him by various people. However, he is really interested, and eager to learn, and we are certain that before long he will be quite an active fan. Ed was born in this fair city of Philadelphia about 18 years ago, went to grammar school and high school, as do most inhabitants of this country. At an early age he showed evidence of an interest in science, as a result of which he built himself a laboratory which is the pride of his life and the envy of many. He also showed early evidence of being a child prodigy at the violin, and played in his high school orchestra, but scholastic efforts interfered, and he dropped that. However, he is trying to make a comeback by organizing a dance orchestra with the aid of Rothman at the piano, but he is having difficulty in gathering the correct array of musicians. He attended the Phila. College of Pharmacy [[?]] and science for a year, at which place he met Rothman, learning to his amazement that they lived about a block apart.
