12. FFF: I agree with the others who have stated that they want Julie to give us a special mag and not a regular issue. We all know Unger has a lot ot give to Fandom; that he is an authority on old mags, for one thing; that he knows Fandom forwards and backwards. He could most certainly give us a grand little FAPAzine if he has the time. I for one, wish that he would do so. THE NUCLEUS: This is a most interesting mag, and the "Portrait Of A Fan" was a clever little take-off that contains, between the lines, a lot of points well worth quite a bit of intensive consideration. THE FANTASY AMATEUR: Thank you, Kind Sirs, for putting out a mag in which to say nice things about me . . .((Oh, was there something else in it besides that?)) . . And, incidentally, this might be a good place to thank all of you who voted me the Eighth spot in the Widner Fan-Poll. I shall try to deserve the honor of it. JINX: THIS IS JUST ABOUT TOPS IN THE MAILING. Here is a mag that has just about everything one could as for in the way of even a subscription fanzine, unless it might be the lack of pictures. Not that I am asking for those here. I get a kick out of the Jenkins-Koenig feud, for it is all so UNpersonal in tone, and just good-natured kidding. That's the way I like to see it in Fandom. Sure, we all have our differences of opinion. Why wouldn't we, when we are all so different, one from another, except in our love of Stf. But why, why should there be personal insults and name-calling over these inescapable differences? These boys have shown us that it is NOT necessary, and that these pseudo-feuds can be a lot of pleasure and entertainment for themselves and others, when handled as they handle it. More power to you both, and KEEP IT CLEAN ((he hissed!)) ENGARDE: The Ashley's come through (altho belatedly) with a nice No. 1 ish. A beautiful tw-color air-brush cover, and some nice material, including the Red Lensman's dissertation on Fans and Nudes. I nude she could do it. ((Forry, drop that knife.)) I like nudes, personally (both real and pictorial, heh, heh!) and I do not object to seeing them on and in fanzines, but I still do not think they have any place on the covers of the prozines, even though the Mac-girl is a rather tasty dish. Al's little chemical piece was not bad, but not nearly up to the class of the two done for LeZombie. FAPA AS A WHOLE: On the Warner system I would rate this about an 8. It is one of the largest and best since I have been a member, and almost all of the stuff was interesting, and good. Where anyone could get as much good and varied material and interesting reading as FAPA brings four times a year, and all for a measly six-bits, I can't conceive. Which reminds me, I owe a year's dues, and if I don't pay it soon, I'll be PHHTT! NNYAHHH! I never even mentioned THAT MAN's name this time! SO NOW!! But I still think he's one of the grandest fellows I've ever known!!
