Hispanics in Iowa: A missing Link In Public Policy

Meeting of Hispanic Alumni Association of Iowa

I. Rusty Barcelo of the University of Iowa called the meeting to order and made introductory comments regarding the meeting:
-to develop a better understanding of the proposed Iowa Foundation:
-to select an official name and logo:
-to discuss membership of the Foundation;
-to discuss organisational structure of the Foundation;
-to discuss board representation of the Foundation;
- to discuss the Letters of Incorporation and the advantages/disadvantages of being incorporated;
-to discuss financing of the Foundation.
II. Rusty introduced M. Colleen Jones, current director of the office of Special Support Services at the University of Iowa.
Ms. Jones is a member of the UI's Black Alumni Association, which has been in existence for 15 years and came to share information about their association which she felt could be of some help to us in our effort to create a similar association.
The black Alumni Association was founded primarily by athletes
