MAY 9 Mother's Day 1948. Rainy. Girls and I drove to church. Hilda takes 5" and 6" grade S.S. class for rest of month. Signe here for supper. My 4 gifts: billfold, pr. white gloves, tablecloth, pr. sheets. 1949. Missed first school at Muscoda. In bed all day, taking Vit. C. Missed faculty picnic in eve. 1950 Hans off to Sparta at 6:30 AM. I finished ironing. Frank in bed yesterday and today. Mrs. Roberts came for me to speak on Denmark at WSCS pres. Mrs. Kurt Wendts. Raked twigs off north lawn and curb. 1951. Cloudy, moved a few plants. Walked downtown for paint, and 24D. Touched up spots c enamel. K and I to Sig's on 6 o'clock bus for supper. Sig had tickets for "Goodby, My Fancy" at Mem. Union. Ellen H. too. 1952. Slept 7 1/2 hrs. straight. K and I worked in garden till I gave out. Vacuumed, made bee syrup, readied Branch circulars in eve. Frank and Tony Diederich started digging for sewer and water outlet at 2121 Univ.
