SEPTEMBER 26 1936. Baked filled cookies, dressed 4-1/2 lb. chicken. Rainy all day. 4H mtg. at Pauline's. All of us but Hilda went to West Liberty via Dubuque and Buckhorn, from 4 to 8:30. 1937. Mailed letter to Hans before S.S., our first in Madison. Picnic dinner and a look at the animals in Vilas Park. Home at [illegible]. Wrote Mrs. Whitson (Bertha has T.b) 1938. Grand weather. Washed, rugs, quilt, etc. - then all thru by 10:30. Baked cake for Harvest Supper at Trousdale, also cooked market basket of apples for sauce for it. Signe, K. and I went to Hilger's then to the supper, all of us helping. Wrote Hans. 1939 8 solid hours of sleep. Had coal put in basement. Crocheted, fixed up Christmas cards to send to Korea. Enjoying new College of the Air service on WHA. 19
