UNIQUE TALES 5 the sea; watching and waiting... It was there the searching Ian found her the next dawning, still wide-eyed and sleepless, watching and waiting. She came with him quietly then-and never a word did she ask or answer-with her dark eyes filled with shadow watching through and past to where a patch of sun lay glinting on the waters and the seaweed drifted on the current. Passive she remained through the wedding preparations, save for a curious restlessness before the dawn when a strange and desolate call came yearning out of the mists that concealed the sea-loving rocks and made good folks sit up in the grey-blackness and wonder what sort of creature put its loneliness into its voice as this one did.
