THE FUTILE PRESS Wishes to announce the completion of its second book, NERO AND OTHER POEMS by CLARK ASHTON SMITH This is a group of ten poems, selected and revised by the author from his early-work, "The Star-Treader and Other Poems' All lovers of worthwhile literature and fine poetry will find this volume of great interest and inestimable value. Though not universally recognized, Clark Ashton Smith is undoubtedly one of the most important poets this country has produced, and deserves a place among the world's greatest masters of verse. These poems, composed early in his career, are representative of the genius which was then bursting into flower. The selection includes: Nero, Chant to Sirius, Medusa, The Eldritch Dark, The Winds, Retrospect and Forecast, The Song of a Comet, To the Darkness, A Dream of Beauty, and A Song of Dreams. Free with every copy of the book will be sent a copy of The Price of Poetry, by David Warren Ryder, an essay which discusses Clark Ashton Smith and his work.
