PROFESSIONAL PUBLISHING Four out of five copies of "The Fox Woman" checked in the Los Angeles area have been found with a front view of a nude girl facing page 18, while the other 20% have a rear view of a nude man. Backgrounds are completely different. This book, already bound to be a collector's item, will be doubly so with this variant appearing. The CHICAGO SUN book section on 29 Dec had a short column on Arkham House books, written by James Sandoe. It mentioned four of the latest books from Arkham, including "Slan," all of them receiving favorable comment. The same column mentioned a new edition of MP Sheil's "The Purple Cloud" which is out from World Publishing Co at a cost of $1. LIBERTY for 11 Jan has a short fantasy entitled "Mr MacAfee Returns."
