Analysis CONTINUED FROM PAGE 2 FEBRUARY (Good) - Perhaps this is not the eye catcher that most of Weird Tales' covers are but Virgil's drawing possesses a beauty which is not often equaled. MARCH (Fair)- Again, like January, not up to Brundage's usual standard. APRIL (Good) > Virgil has created a really fine study of firelight shading. MAY (Fair) - For the third time in five months Brundage delivers a piece of work unworthy of her, JUNE (Superb) - One of the year's four finest covers (Brundage drew them all!) The golden man and the cringing girl are two of the most beautiful figures I have ever seen. The panel effect is also quite good. JULY (Excellent) - Virgil has at last brought a truely superman to WEIRD TALES! It's most pleasing after so many superwomen. AUGUST (Poor) - The year’s worst cover. Take a look at it; need I say more? SEPTEMBER (Superb)- Where is that fellow who said Brundage always drew her girls out of proportion? I’ll bet he's still hiding! OCTOBER (Superb) - Never yet have I seen an equal for the diabolical lovely known as "Tiger Cat". NOVEMBER (Superb) - Once again Brundage reveals her mastery at the art of portraying beautiful women. (I'd still like to know where the fellow mentioned under September is!) DECEMBER (Excellent) - I thought twice before rating this one. Without a doubt it is almost "superb", Sorry, Mr. Finlay, that just happens to be the way I feel about the matter. Excellent Condition Post Paid Prices SCIENCE WONDER STORIES Vol. 1 No. 1 - 80c 0ct.
