14 Page SCIENTI-SNAPS Sam Moskowitz of Newark, N.J. send a long and interesting comment on the production methods of SCIENTI-SNAPS which we are forced to omit through lack of space. Then: "Turning to the material, I liked your editorial, considered your review of 1937 WEIRD TALES' covers [interesting?]. REMEMBER has possibilities, ask fans to help contribute to it. VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES though interesting is definitely out of place. I like the style of the story, somewhat similar to Clifford Ball. Book and movie reviews O.K." (Maybe we're dumb, but we fail to see why V. & W. is out of place. We had a second REMEMBER but it was crowded out of this issue.) John V. Baltadonia of Philadelphia, Pa. Writes: "The only thing I don't like about SCIENTI-SNAPS is the number of pages. You should have at least twenty pages. I hope you come to that number eventually." (Well, Jack, we almost reached that number in this issue. We'll probably pass it in the next. Ed.) Donald A. Wollheim sends: "The first issue of any magazine is always a poor one to judge by. Though SCIENTI-SNAPS seems to have mastered the art of hecto clearly, I really did not find anything to stir my interest very intensely either pro or con. I did like your review of [STAR BEGOTTEN?] very much though and wish you had amphlified your comments more. When you recall the very silly and blind review that "H.K." in THRILLING WONDER gave it, it may cause you to think that perhaps fans, in bulk, may not appreciate it at all. A few, like yourself, Beck, the British fans, and my own small circle enjoyed it, but that apparently was all......... In general though, SCIENTI-SNAPS was not a bad start and when you get in the run, I fancy you will go to town"
