about, either on the landing platform or the palace, so the Masked Spaceman had no need to hide. He walked thru a long hallway and knocked at a door. He seemed to know the place well. The door was opened by a Koray Guardsman, who almost had heart trouble when he saw the Masked Spaceman. "I want to see your king," said the Masked Spaceman in a low voice. "Yes sir," answered the Guardsman, "Come right this way." "A moment later, the Masked Spaceman stepped into the king's office. THe king, a well built man of 50, still looked strong and had jet black hair. He told all those present in the room to leave so he could talk to the Masked Spaceman in private. All those in the room left at once. "I'm glad you came," said the King, his face haggard. "I was wishing I could get in touch with you. I need you badly. Very badly." "Yes, i know," said the Masked Spaceman. "Then you know that your daughter has been kidnapped?" "Yes, we just heard of it," answered the King, his voice almost breaking, "And it was all the work of the Earth-Mars State. It was one of their ships that took her. They painted over their ship and took off all numbers and markings but it was one of their Interplanetary Guard's ships. I know their ships and this picture taken of their kidnapping proves it. I---" "That picture is a fake," answered the Masked Spaceman, "I was there when they kidnapped her, tho I couldn't help her much, and I know that those ships don't belong to the Interplanetary Guard. In fact I shot down one of them, you can have your experts look over it and prove that it wasn't a Guard's ship. That's why I came here to tell you the facts so that there wouldn't be a war. I've suspected something like this to take place for some time now. Let me look for the Princess and wait till I return. Will you do that? You don't want war, do you?" "Of course I don't want war!" stated the King. "Do you think I want to see young men killed? Do you?"
