FANTASY DIGEST "PROCESSION OF YESTERDAYS" or "Are You A 'Veteran' Too?" by Bob Tucker Quite a crop of articles in fan magazines reliving the 'good old days' have appeared lately, most of them written by veterans of way back when.. oh, almost as far back as 1935! These veterans of 1935 are so helpful in helping the boys of 1929 & 1930 to remember the olden days! With everyday that passes, with every magazine that makes an appearance, up pops a new 'old-timer; who prattles about the days of yore when so-and-so's fan magazine heralded a new golden era. Some of these boys need the acid test. That surface of cob-webiness hanging about their writings would readily vanish by asking them a few questions. The majority of them are as phoney and new as fake antique furniture from Grand Rapids. Ask them a few of these questions! Did you get your copies of THE TIME TRAVELER, THE SCIENCE FICTION DIGEST and THE FANTASY FAN by subscribing to them, or did you pick 'em up off of somebody else in a batch for your files? If you subscribed to them you are an old timer. If you picked yours up later on....wellll...... Do you remember when Willey Ley was vice President of the German Interplanetary Society, and wrote articles, not for the professional magazines as he does today, but for the fan magazines of yesterday? Do you remember when Mort Weisinger, now Editor of Thrilling Wonder, and Ray Palmer, now editor of Amazing, were just a couple of fans, putting out the SCIENCE FICTION DIGEST, writing columns and articles for it? Do you remember when that magazine
