The staff has been installed in the barracks with the commandant and officers of the army section of the S.A.T.C. — — — — — CHURCH NOTICE The Presbyterian student counselor and his wife wish to meet all students of Presbyterian preference as soon as possible after their arrival. The Synod House at 125 North Clinton street is always open to students and they are welcome at any time. Beginning Monday the students counselor's office in the church building will be open from 10 to 12 and from 2 to 5. Other hours are by appointment. — — — — — S.U.I. ALUMNUS IS BRIGADIER GENERAL Brigadier-General Hanson R. Ely, formerly Iowa City and at one time a student in the college og law of the University, was sighted recently for conspicuous gallantry in handling of troops and in making quick decisions in the battle of Cantingy. General Ely was commander of the 28th infantry, and was promoted from the rank of colonel to that of brigadier-general immediately following this battle. He entered the college of law here in '98, but did not finish his course, as he left to enter West Point, having received an appointment to that place. He has been in the service ever since his graduation from the military school at West Point. — — — — — Officer's shoes—of Cordovan or Calf, at Stewarts.
