I never saw so many children in one spot in my life. I can believe that Germany does need some outlet for her population. The youngsters were pretty friendly and the older persons seemingly not unfriendly. We ate dinner in the hotel, with four boche officers at the next table. Again the food was abundant, and not so expensive as in Trier. Conger Reynolds. A feature convocation for students and faculty members was held by the staff of the Purdue Exponent recently. Census slips with questions to be answered and a space for criticisms or suggestions concerning the policy, news substance, or make-up of the paper were filled out by those attending. Graft in big university parties and profit made by student managers of dances is being discussed by the student interests committee at the University of Kansas. The school of engineering there conducts all of its student enterprises on a non-profit basis. Editors present were Mary Rice, Hawkeye editor; Grace Altschuler, Hawkeye business manager; Mrs. Grace Partridge Smith, Iowa Alumnus editor; Ruth Rogers, Iowa Alumnus business manager; Mildred Whitcomb, Iowan editor; Romola Latchem, Iowan business manager; Mrs. F. B. Thayer, and Prof. C. H. Weller. Hugh Tamisiea has been called to Omaha by the serious illness of his aunt. Prof. Homer R. Dill gave a lecture before the high school students Friday afternoon. He took incidents from his trip to the Louisiana coast as his subject. Harry Gross, Phi Delta Theta, is back in the University.
