Omaha, Nebraska September 26, 1939 Dear Forty Mile: George and I are making tentative plans to come over for the South Dakota game next Saturday, by driving to Adel Friday evening and on to IC on Saturday to arrive around 11 to 11:30. Will you please arrange for a couple of ducats for us. I will phone Bob to see if he can get away in case he should care to come too. Just now I have written to Clarke saying that we will likely drive to Cedar Rapids Saturday evening and should be happy for a night's lodging. Then Suday we will drive on to Ames for dinner with Ben, andhome in the afternoon. We shall not plan on seeing you Saturday until we meet you at the dressing room door after the game, unless you write me differently. But you will tell me where to collect the tickets, unless it is convenient to send them in your letter. Your letter was most welcome and I hope that we do not fail to find time for frequent exchange of those epistles that so nearly take the place of a fireside chat. And by the way, the fireside is a reality now. We have some nice oak wood which certainly creates a fine atmosphere of warmth and cheer for us. And you know that its warmth, cheer and love extends as far as Iowa City too. Pop
