(after Indiana Game) Sunday evening 10-8-'39 Dear Mother: I am terribly ashamed that I haven't written you a personal note long before now. I hope that father has spoken of the love I send to you each trip he makes. I wish that I might be living at home so that you all might experience first hand the joys that I have had this fall. It seems so good to see Ben and father, and father and George and Bob the week before. If I did not know of the fine and loving duty you perform each Sunday I should feel piqued at your absence on these trips. The radio no doubt gives you almost as much pleasure as seeing the game yourself - for that I am glad. Things are going along very well thus far and I have no fear for the future. We
