Omaha, Nebraska, December 14, 1939 Dear Ben: This will be much shorter than is my wish, in order that it can be posted before the last call at the corner box. Enclosed is a check that should supply your needs for the rest of this quarter. Please inform of us of your plans for coming to Omaha for the very welcome Christmas vacation. The doings of your brother have been throwing me in the end zone nearly every day for the past couple of weeks and I no sooner think I will twist out somehow than something hits me from the blind side. We will go into all of it when we nave a huddle next week. We are so glad that you have the sketch of Nile in the News that we all liked. I, too, picked up a little number of a similar sort. You remember the picture in last Sunday's Register of the Notre Dame game; the touchdown play and the insert of the point Kick? I have an enlarged picture of that, 18 x 22 inches. that George Yates gave me. How would it fit into your gallery. In your anxiety to join the family group I trust that you will leave no task undone, no effort unmade that will contribute to your own good record in the classroom and lab at Iowa State. Do a good clean job all the way. Love Pop
