4 necessity of understanding and studying present conditions from an economical, sociological and historical point a view. An adequate knowledge and application of these studies is desirable, certainly. However, the memorization of all minute detail connected therewith is for the scholar, the future instructor and technician, but is not for me. I am very much in favor in studying history and economics in the light of present day conditions, in comparing and evaluating a similar period of the past with the future, in absorbing the fundamental principles of economics and analyzing the present economic problems in that light.
