6 There you have rather roughly and incoherently expressed some of the thoughts that have come to me in the last month or so. As you can see I am more and more becoming set against obscuring initiative, imagination and ideas by too much detail, mediocre conservatism and directed study. All this is not a camouflage for laziness or an apology for possible low grades in the future. It is at present my firm conviction. I trust have the courage to practice it. Some time in the future I should like with your approval to write my feelings on what I have gotten from athletics, what good is a knowledge of the classics, art, and music.
