Iowa City, IA 52242-1492 Dear Paul - Thanks for your letter of Oct. 26. Boy, is my face red! I really botched things up. You are entirely correct in your confirmation of Kinnick's letter of Feb. 14, 1941. I had the articles stacked on my desk and somehow mismatched dates and stories. Next time I attempt to do a little historic sleuthing, you can be sure I'll be more punctilious. Enclosed are copies of the following articles, copied from my original newspapers: 12/18/39 - NILE KINNICK IS VOTED CHICAGO TRIBUTE AWARD 2/5/40 EDDIE ANDERSON SPEAKER ROTARY'S ATHLETIC BANQUET 3/4/41 KINNICK DECLARES BOYS MUST MAKE "FOOTBALL PAY" Also enclosed is a copy of the 2/20/40 article, ANDERSON URGES YOUTH TO EXCEL IN MANY SPORTS, which I had printed from microfilm.
