and if the voting public won't measure up it is better in the long run that they learn the hard way. I think the Republicans have a good chance of winning the next election and of being of great service to the country. They are supporting some sound measures in the present Congress such as the Ruml plan and the Ball resolution. If they vote constructively and not just in opposition they can revive a reputation now in sad repair. It seems to me quite possible Wilkie may make the grade. I note he is pretty well received in the movie theatres back this way. Of course it will take a terrific surge of popular opinion to defeat the old line politicians of his own party.
