Suppose you know that old BHS had quite a basketball season, losing out to Lincoln in the finals of the state tournament. From all I can gather Cap.'t Kinnick gave a pretty fair account of himself. In the last game he was high point man from the guard position with 4 buckets and a free throw. In one respect he reminded me of your high school career, to wit, he fouled out in about 1/4 of the games. Never could understand why some of you gents always play dirty. Believe George gained second All-State recognition on one of the papers' selections. Had a letter from Pettet some time ago evidently mailed from Pearl Harbor. He is 1st pilot on a DC-3 now. Have not heard James L. George for a good long time. He may have moved on. Had you heard that Pete Paige was killed in an operational crash at Guadacanal. Understand that the Iowa Nat'l Guard took an awful beating from Rommel in his
