and a companion as well as father. All of us constantly marvel at his sustained effort, working often fourteen or fifteen hours a day and seemingly thriving on it. One seldom feels his sentimental side or views his tenderer emotions but let one of us fall ill or confront a mental problem of large proportions and he suddenly becomes a comforter, & a post on which to lean. That he is the acme of temperance and a stranger to anger need hardly to be mentioned. God's in his heaven All's right with the world. (NCK, Jr)
